OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — Don’t expect Jim Caldwell to incorporate the triple-option or a variety of trick plays in his first NFL game as an offensive coordinator.
Caldwell will be running the Baltimore Ravens’ attack on Sunday against Denver. He assumed the post on Monday after head coach John Harbaugh fired Cam Cameron.
With only three weeks to go in the regular season, Caldwell plans to tweak the offense rather than overhaul it.
He says, “”Obviously there’s not going to be a system change of any sort. I’ll add a few wrinkles here and there.”
Caldwell, the former head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, hopes to help Baltimore (9-4) end a two-game skid. Denver (10-3) has won eight straight.
Caldwell intends to run the offense from the booth instead of on the field.
