BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A city shooting leaves one man dead and another in critical condition.

It happened on the corner of Madison and Preston early Saturday morning.

Two men were shot in the upper torso and head and sent to area hospitals. Avon Ball died from gunshot wounds. The other man is in critical condition at an area hospital.

Detectives said the shooting occurred after a verbal altercation at a club.

City police have a person of interest in custody. The incident is still under investigation.
