Laurel Police Arrest Suspect At Scene Of Arson

LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- Police have arrested a man suspected of setting a wreath on fire on the door of an apartment in Laurel.

Laurel city spokesman Pete Piringer says no one was injured in the fire about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The fire was extinguished before causing extensive damage, but the building was evacuated due to smoke spreading through the halls.

Residents were allowed to return after the smoke cleared.

Laurel police identified the suspect as Christopher Seaborn, 26. He is charged with malicious burning, obstructing firefighters and endangerment and other offenses.
