RIDGELY, Md. (AP) — State police say a man was found dead in his Ridgely home on his 90th birthday, and his 58-year-old daughter has been charged with murder.
Police say Janice Cohee told troopers Monday evening that her father had been killed by two intruders. But police say she provided conflicting information, and her account didn’t match evidence found in the scene.
Police say Arthur Cohee lived with his daughter. His body was found in a chair in a kitchen with obvious trauma to the head and neck. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
Police say Janice Cohee called 911 shortly to report that her father was dead. She was charged early Tuesday with first-degree murder. She’s being held without bond at the Caroline County jail.
