3 Acquitted Of Murder In Keymar Bar Fight

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- A Hagerstown man and his two sons have been acquitted of murder, manslaughter and assault charges by a Carroll County jury.

The Carroll County Times reports that 53-old John Robey and adult sons Jonathan and Thomas heard the verdict Thursday in Westminster.

They were charged in the death last year of 26-year-old Craig Edward Myers of Rocky Ridge. Myers died after he was allegedly beaten in the parking lot of the Crossroads Inn in Keymar.

Prosecutors acknowledged in closing arguments that their main eyewitness to the incident, Myers' girlfriend, wasn't credible. The testimony she gave at the trial differed from the statement she gave to police.

Forty-eight-year-old Michael Grimes of Woodsboro is awaiting trial on manslaughter and assault charges in the same case.
