Md. Unemployment Rate Drops
BALTIMORE (AP) -- State officials say the unemployment rate dropped slightly in November, but Maryland lost 3,100 jobs.
The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics released preliminary figures on Friday, showing Maryland's jobless rate at 6.6 percent, down from October's 6.7 percent.
Gov. Martin O'Malley called the report disappointing, but pointed out that 25,400 more Marylanders are working today than at this time last year.
