Muscala Leads Bucknell Past Loyola 66-46

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Mike Muscala scored 29 points and Bucknell took control late in the first half, going on to defeat Loyola (Md.) 66-46 in a nonconference game Friday night.

The Bison (12-2) have equaled the best start in their program's history, matching the 1983-84 and 1901-02 teams.

Muscala, a senior forward, moved into a third-place tie on Bucknell's career scoring list. He and Mike Bright (1989-93) have 1,670 points. His eight rebounds give him 864 for his career, moving past Mike Butts (1985-89) for fifth with the Bison.

The Greyhounds (9-4) led 18-14 with 9:15 left in the first half but were outscored 20-5 the remainder of the half. The Bison led by double digits throughout the second half.

Joe Willman and Cameron Ayers scored 10 points each for Bucknell.

Dylon Cormier scored 13 points to lead Loyola in the matchup, which for the fourth straight year was played on Dec. 28.
