Happy New Year!
The weather is going to calm down temporarily as we roll into 2013. Clouds have returned as a set of fronts approaches from the west. There could even be a sprinkle or flurry tonight, but nothing to stop the festivities and fireworks. In fact, there will only be a light breeze with a temperature about 36 degrees.
We will eventually drop to 32 overnight and rebound to about 40 degrees tomorrow as a few rain and snow showers cross the state as one front passes to our north and another, more organized storm cuts to our south. Both of those get out of here Wednesday, dragging in a new round of cold air for a few days. Highs will only be in the 30s with overnight lows in the 20s – maybe even in the teens in some colder areas.
Another disorganized front will pass south of us again Thursday. This may drag a shower or two through our state, but it’s still just a chance – mainly across southern Maryland. It will trap the cold air in, though. We don’t recover temperature-wise until at least the weekend.
Be safe out there tonight!
