Metro Police Want Help Solving Bus Stabbing

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro Transit Police are asking for the public's help in solving an altercation and stabbing aboard a bus on New Year's Day.

Police on Wednesday said they are looking for four persons of interest in the incident, all of them between the ages of 19 and 22. Detectives believe the men boarded the 93 route bus in Adams Morgan around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday and got into an altercation with two female passengers when the bus was in southeast Washington around 2:20 a.m.

One of the women told the bus driver that she had been stabbed. The other woman was struck in the head. The driver pulled over and called police.

Both women were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Metro officials say the suspects fled the bus.
