WASHINGTON (AP) — Police say a body found in the ventilation shaft of an apartment building in northwest Washington has been identified as a missing Maryland man.
Police on Thursday identified the body as that of Michael Steven Poe, 23, of Clarksburg. Poe was last seen at a bar in the same neighborhood on New Year’s Day and never returned home.
Police say a resident of The Haddington apartment building at 1840 Biltmore St. NW called police Wednesday night to report an unconscious person. Police responded and found Poe dead inside the shaft.
Police investigators are trying to learn how Poe died.
