Fairleigh Dickinson Beats Mount St. Mary's 72-65

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Melquan Bolding scored a game-high 19 points, and Kinu Rochford added 12 points and 10 rebounds as Fairleigh Dickinson beat Mount St. Mary's 72-65 Thursday night in the Northeast Conference opener for both teams.

Lonnie Robinson also cracked double figures for Fairleigh Dickinson (6-7) with 10 points.

Bolding scored 14 points in the first half, and the Knights shot 70 percent (16 for 23) for the period.

Mount St. Mary's shot 34.4 percent (11 for 32) as they trailed at halftime 39-22.

Trailing 61-49 with 3:23 left in the game, Mount St. Mary's (5-7) went on a 14-7 run with Rashad Whack's 3-pointer cutting the lead to five, 68-63, with 33 seconds left to play. But Mustafa Jones made four consecutive free throws to close out the Mountaineers.

The Knights made 15 more free throws than the Mountaineers.

Kristijan Krajina led Mount St. Mary's with 16 points.
