Veteran-Led Community Organization Tries To Clean Up Oliver On MLK Jr. Day

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A veteran-led community organization is trying to transform an East Baltimore neighborhood.

During 2012's annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, The 6th Branch gathered 125 volunteers in Oliver to turn an area with demolished rowhouses into a playscape for children.

They removed trash and debris from alleys and streets.

The organization is continuing Operation: Oliver this year on Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1500 North Bethel Street.
