Man On Bail In Burglaries Arrested For Car Thefts
OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Ocean City police say a man on bail in connection with several residential burglaries has been arrested for allegedly stealing from cars in the resort town.
Police say about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, officers saw a stolen car parked near the victim's home with the engine running and a man in the driver's seat.
Officers say they approached the car, but the man in the driver's seat ran from the vehicle and jumped into the bay. Officers pulled the man from the water and arrested him.
Alexander George Ellis, 20, of Ocean City has been charged with several counts of theft. He is being held on $25,000 bond.
Police say Ellis had been arrested Jan. 3 and charged in six residential burglaries. He had been freed on bond in those cases.
