Young Leads GOP Gubernatorial Hopefuls In Money
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- New financial disclosure reports show that Blaine Young leads all potential Republican candidates for Maryland governor in fundraising.
Young reported this week that he had raised $446,000 during the past year and had $349,000 in cash on hand. Young is president of the Frederick County Board of Commissioners.
According to The Washington Post, Harford County Executive David Craig reported Thursday that he raised $232,000 during the past year and has $202,000 in the bank.
The fundraising totals of Young and Craig are dwarfed by potential Democratic candidates. Attorney General Doug Gansler reported $5.2 million in the bank, Howard County Executive Ken Ulman has $2.1 million and Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown has $1.6 million.
