PARKVILLE, Md. (WJZ) — Purple Pride hits a fever pitch in Maryland. Ravens fans are counting down the seconds until the AFC Championship game kicks off in Foxborough.

Jessica Kartalija talks with excited fans at the Firehouse Tavern in Baltimore County.

Less than an hour until kickoff, and fans in Parkville are already celebrating.

Fan: “Ravens win. Ravens in the Super Bowl.”
Kartalija: “Predictions? What’s the score?”
Fan: “30-to-23.”
Kartalija: “30-23?”
Fan: “Us. Ravens. Of course!”

“This is great. This is great for business all around the state, the whole region. Everybody’s excited for it, everybody’s going out. It’s bringing people out of their houses in a slow time of the year. It’s a great thing,” the bar owner said.

Kartalija: “How excited are you for this game and what are your predictions?”
Fan: “Ecstatic, I’ve been up all night just waiting for the game. I definitely see the Ravens winning 27-10.”

Video of one super-fan–captured by his wife–has gone viral on YouTube.

“When the Ravens scored and tied it up the first time–with Ray Rice scoring to tie it up–I lost my mind.”

Keith Letourneau’s now has more than 100,000 hits.

“I just started going into this high-pitched noise that I don’t think any of us have ever heard,” Letourneau said.

And he’s not alone. Fans say they know the Ravens are going to the Super Bowl. Everyone is thinking very positively and say it is in the Ravens’ destiny.

And fans downtown all have their own idea on what the Ravens need to do to win against New England.

Derek Valcourt reports.

“I think Ray Rice is going to have to have good ball control. Also I think they’re going to have to have a nice pass rush with Kruger and the front four, front five,” a Ravens fan said.

“Run the ball. Throw it down the field. Score touchdowns,” another fan said.

“I think they’re going to have to score a lot of points ’cause New England has a great offense. So I think they’re going to have to get a lot of production on offense. I think Flacco’s going to have to have a really good game,” said a Ravens fan.

“Hard fought battle, going to have to be won in the trenches. And at the end the Ravens are going to win with a Justin Tucker field goal, just like last week.”

And that’s what we’re hearing from everyone. Ravens fans around Baltimore and pretty much all over Maryland are confident the team is going to walk away with a big win against the Patriots.
