Ocean City Rescue; Man Almost Drowns Near Inlet

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- The Coast Guard says a man has been rescued from the ocean near the Ocean City Inlet.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Jeffrey Jonsson told The Daily Times of Salisbury that the man was reported in the water about 3 p.m. Sunday. Jonsson said the man in his 30s or 40s was between 60 yards and 120 yards out, near the north jetty of the Ocean City Inlet.

Jonsson said the man's condition was not immediately available, and it is not clear why he was in the water. The man was only wearing undergarments when he was rescued.
