Bitterly Cold Weather Prompts Baltimore Code Blue

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore has issued a code blue alert as plunging temperatures and high winds present a danger to health.

The alert begins Tuesday night and will continue through Sunday.

The city's 14 emergency shelters will be operating extended hours. Private shelters are encouraged to extend their hours.
