BALTIMORE (WJZ)–  Firefighters are battling a blaze in downtown Baltimore.

At 12:45 a.m., Baltimore City firefighters were dispatched to N. Calvert and Read Streets for a report of a building fire.

Companies arrived to find a three-story brick end of the group commercial building with heavy fire conditions on the first, second and third floors.

Heavy fire on all floors created unsafe conditions. The incident commander ordered an immediate evacuation of the building.

Firefighters fought the fire from the outside and there was a partial collapse of the building.

An initial assessment was the first floor consisted of offices and the second and third floors were used as apartments.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Fire investigators remain on the scene to perform preliminary assessments into the cause of this fire.
