Rev. Vernon Dobson–Baptist Minister & Baltimore Civil Rights Leader–Dead At 89

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Remembering a civil rights leader. Reverend Vernon Dobson has passed away.

The Baptist minister and civil rights leader died Saturday from complications of a stroke.

He had a hand in founding the Maryland Food Bank and fought for equality in Baltimore.

Dobson was 80 years old.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 at Saint Mark’s Institutional Baptist Church.
