BALTIMORE (WJZ)–Police are investigating a police-involved shooting on North Longwood Street in Baltimore City.

The incident happened just before 6:30 p.m. Monday. Officials say they approached the suspect when he got into a car and drove toward the officers. At that time, at least one officer fired several rounds from his weapon.

The suspect kept driving along Edmondson Avenue and police caught up with him in the 800-block of North Longwood Street.

The suspect was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.

No officers were injured.

The incident is under investigation.
