New Orleans Fans Cheering For Hometown Players Ed Reed, Jacoby Jones

NEW ORLEANS (WJZ) -- With only four days to go until the Super Bowl, Ravens fans are continuing to pump up the Purple Pride.

The team is down in New Orleans preparing to take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Jessica Kartalija reports New Orleans fans who usually cheer for the Saints are cheering for the Ravens. That's because two of the  key players are from the Big Easy--Ed Reed and Jacoby Jones.

Kartalija: "How exciting is it for you to be back here in your hometown? Mama's home cooking."
Jones: "I know. She cooked for the team yesterday."
Kartalija: "And what did everybody think?"
Jones: "They're trying to get her to cook again, but she ain't going to do it again. She's like 'I'm too old for that.' But it was nice for a minute. Come back home, be able to play in front of family and friends. It'll be fun."
Kartalija: "The city looks absolutely incredible. Are you proud, does this make you proud?"
Jones: "I am. We've been on the upcard ever since Katrina. We've been building and we have our fun with the Essence Fest so the Super Bowl really put us on the map."

And locals supporting their hometown players are hoping for a Ravens win.

"I'm a fan of Ed Reed because he's from Destrehan right around here and I want to see him win his first Super Bowl," a fan said.

And Jacoby Jones says it's just unbelievable to have his family in New Orleans and able to watch him up close and personal.
