Mount St. Mary's Downs Quinnipiac 77-73

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Shivaughn Wiggins led Mount St. Mary's with 17 points as they held on to beat Quinnipiac 77-73 Wednesday night in Northeast Conference play.

Rashad Whack and Julian Norfleet each scored 13 points to help Mount St. Mary's (8-12, 3-6) snap a two-game skid.

Trailing 56-43 with 12:59 left, Quinnipiac fought back to get within two, 71-69, with just over a minute remaining in the game.

After Whack made three free throws, extending the Mountaineers' lead to 74-69 with 31 seconds left, the Bobcats' Dave Johnson made a 3-pointer to make it 74-72 with 17 seconds to play.

Ike Azotam made a free throw for Quinnipiac (8-13, 4-5) with 11 seconds left to get within one, 74-73, but the Bobcats failed to score again while the Mountaineers sealed the victory with three free throws in the final four seconds.

Quinnipiac's Ousmane Drame finished with career-highs of 19 points and 20 rebounds.
