Neller's Last-Second 3 Lifts UMBC Over Maine 68-67

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Chase Plummer scored 17 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists and Brian Neller hit a 3-pointer with .5 seconds left to help Maryland-Baltimore County hand America East Conference-foe Maine its third straight loss, 68-67, Saturday night.

Joey Getz came off the bench for 16 points, Ryan Cook added 14 and Neller finished with 12 for UMBC (6-16, 4-5), which trailed 39-26 at halftime but shot 57.1 percent (16 of 28) in the second half to complete the rally.

Plummer's jumper with 1:30 left gave UMBC a 65-62 advantage, but Maine (8-14, 3-6) regained the lead 67-65 behind two Xavier Pollard free throws and a Zarko Valjarevic 3-pointer before Neller's game-winner.

UMBC shot 43 percent (26 of 60) and won despite hitting just 9 of 19 free throws.

Valjarevic paced Maine with 20 points but went 6-of-18 shooting, including 6 of 17 from 3-point range.
