Ex-County Executive John Leopold Still Faces Discrimination Suits

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- John Leopold's resignation as Anne Arundel county executive isn't the end of his legal troubles.

Leopold is still facing civil discrimination lawsuits from two former county employees who say they were wrongfully fired.

A judge last week found Leopold guilty of misconduct in office for using his security detail to perform political campaign activities while on the job and for making staffers empty his urine catheter bag. Leopold resigned after the verdict.

One of the former employees says she was fired after she complained that Leopold grabbed her, and another says she was fired in part because she didn't support Leopold's re-election campaign.

John Singleton, a lawyer representing the women, tells the Capital of Annapolis that he wants to move the civil cases forward as quickly as possible.
