BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Sunday’s Super Bowl is a super winner for WJZ-TV.

The telecast drew a record audience of 1.5 million viewers at its peak in the Baltimore market, according to preliminary Nielsen figures.

The audience is believed to be the largest for any show on Baltimore TV since the introduction of People Meters in Baltimore in 2009.

The telecast earned a rating of 59.6. That means three out of every five TV homes in the area tuned to the game which the Ravens eventually won 34-31 over the 49ers.
