Purple Pride Fills Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Well before the parade got off to a wild start, there were plenty of speeches to be heard at City Hall.

Kai Jackson has the kickoff to the celebration.

Sky Eye Chopper 13 was high above as thousands packed the square in front of City Hall. The Baltimore Ravens won the Super Bowl and this was the day to celebrate that victory.

"We said that we were going to carry all of Baltimore's fans down to the Superdome and carry you with us in our hearts and you were there!" said Coach John Harbaugh.

Fans watched from the ground and some got a perch on the City Hall balcony. Sky Eye Chopper 13 also caught fans watching from a parking garage.

"They underestimated us and what happened? We were victorious!" said Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

The Ravens' win over the San Francisco 49ers in New Orleans made Baltimore and Maryland proud and this is a Ravens-sized thank you to the team. The team, in turn, is saying "Much obliged."

"The city of Baltimore, I love you forever and ever and ever and ever and ever," Ray Lewis said.
