PIKESVILLE, Md. (WJZ)- Baltimore County Police have arrested a suspect in the death of a woman whose lifeless body was found in a Pikesville apartment.

Jeffrey Michael Shiflett, 33, was arrested Wednesday morning.

Baltimore County Police responded to a residence in the unit block of Wellhaven Circle in Pikesville Tuesday night for a report of a domestic disturbance.

There was no answer at the door and it was locked.

Once police went inside, they found two small children who were unharmed and the body of Katie Hadel, 33.

Hadel had been stabbed multiple times. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The suspect left the apartment before police arrived.

Detectives say the suspect and the victim had a prior relationship.

The Baltimore County Police Department Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case.
