BALTIMORE (WJZ) — One of Downtown Baltimore’s major arteries is shutting down for the weekend to remove a pedestrian bridge.

From Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, Light Street will be completely closed from Conway to Pratt Street.

Crews are replacing the bridge that connects the Hyatt garage to Haborplace because it’s severely corroded and rusted.

Drivers should avoid the area.
