Man Arrested After Car Theft From Metro Station
SEAT PLEASANT, Md. (AP) — Metro Transit police say a man has been charged with stealing a car from the parking lot of the Addison Road station in Seat Pleasant and driving it into Virginia.
Police say Isom Cooper, 49, was taken into custody Saturday afternoon by Fairfax County police in the Kingstowne, Va., area.
According to police, Cooper stole the car early Saturday morning and drove it across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Virginia. Police found the vehicle in the parking lot of a shopping center. Police say when officers approached, Cooper fled the scene in the vehicle before abandoning it on a ramp leading to the Capital Beltway.
After several hours, police found Cooper at a hotel not far from where he left the car.
