The cold really settled in Sunday. We only topped out at 32 degrees with the wind chill hanging in the teens most of the afternoon. The gusty winds are going to continue Sunday night. So while temperatures drop to the teens, the wind chill will be in the single digits. The cold air is going to carry over to the new work week despite sunshine. It won’t be as windy as Sunday, but still breezy with a high in the upper 30s.
Sunshine will give way to increasing clouds Monday night as a new storm moves our way. This storm could start as an icy mix late Monday night into the early morning hours of Tuesday before changing to rain. Like a few recent storms, this one will also bring a push of much warmer air with highs in the upper 40s – so it will be mainly a rain event.
Gusty winds will pick up and turn back around to the northwest Wednesday behind the departing storm, bringing in another round of chilly air. Highs will drop back below average for the middle of the week. We are forecasting highs in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees. Then, we have to watch for another storm to move into this marginally cold air on Friday. We will keep you updated on the details as we move through the week.
