Production Of Berger Cookies Halted Over Food License
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Bad news for Baltimore cookie fanatics.
City health officials closed the Berger Bakery late last month.
The processing plant was operating without a food license, which is required under Baltimore City Health Code.
As of Feb. 14, after an inspection, the health department has approved a food license for the bakery.
The plant just needs to pay the necessary fees and pick up the license in order to resume production of Baltimore's most famous treat--the Berger cookie.
