Former Terps Head Coach Lefty Driesell Talks New Award

Ed & Steve had former Maryland Terrapin basketball coach Lefty Driesell on to talk about the award he is received this past weekend, and Terps basketball.

Steve asked Lefty for his thoughts about Maryland leaving the ACC for the Big Ten. Lefty is opposed to it, he feels all the big conferences are getting too big and its not good for college sports. Lefty said fans have no connection to rivalries anymore, its becoming too much about money.

Ed asked Lefty if he still follows basketball. Lefty said he watches more now than he ever did and watches as many as 3 games a night. Lefty also said he doesn't like how the game has gone away from big man on the inside and towards 3 point shooters.

Ed asked Lefty for his thoughts on Alex Len. Lefty said he likes Alex Len and hes going to be good, but he needs to adjust to the double team and kick the ball around to his teammates. Lefty hopes Len stays at Maryland for a couple of years though he thinks he will not.
