BALTIMORE (WJZ/AP) — If you need nicotine to get through a close match, you’ll be out of luck during next season’s Orioles or Ravens games.

The Maryland Stadium Authority has made it against the rules to smoke anywhere in either M&T Bank Stadium or Camden Yards.

A spokesman for the authority said Monday that the rule will take effect March 4 and will apply to all games and events held at the stadiums.

Previously, there had been designated areas within the stadiums where patrons could smoke.

The Stadium Authority spokesman said the Ravens will make accommodations for fans by allowing patrons to leave the stadium, smoke in a designated area, and go back inside. The Orioles are expected to announce a similar policy before Opening Day this spring.

Even if that happens, they won’t be allowed to smoke within 25 feet of either complex.
