WEATHER BLOG: Taste Of Spring

Sunshine is breaking out of the clouds and temperatures are jumping big time. At noon, we were already in the 50s and still rising. Our average high rises to 48 degrees Wednesday, and we will be about 10 degrees above that. It's still officially February, but we are getting close. Meteorological spring starts Friday on March 1 and seasonal spring is just 21 days away - starting on Wednesday, March 20.. Make sure you get out and enjoy it, because a new round of chilly air is on its way even though we may be heading closer to the calendar dates for spring.

The main low that brought Tuesday's storm through here is sitting just off to our northwest. It will swing by Thursday. When it does, colder air will come rushing in behind it. A round of scattered rain or maybe even snow showers will also make their way across the state with the arrival of the colder air. And when it gets here, it's going to stick around for a while.

We will be close to average on Friday with a high in the upper 40s, then highs will only be in the low 40s Saturday and near 40 on Sunday and Monday.
