Judge Releases Man Held In School Trespassing Case

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A former National Guardsman charged with trespassing inside an Anne Arundel County high school has been released on house arrest.

Justin Matthew Beaumont, who raised police concerns after a large stash of weapons was found inside his home, was released from custody Wednesday but will have to surrender all firearms not already seized by the police and must not go on or near any school property.

Police say Beaumont entered North County High School through a back door earlier this month and that an assault rifle and other weapons were found during a search of his home.

As a condition of his release, Beaumont must also follow through with the suggested mental health follow-up plan from a psychiatric hospital.
