BALTIMORE (AP) — Authorities say a Maryland man wanted in the rape of a child in California has been arrested.
Officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as Baltimore and Maryland State police, arrested Santos Javier Guevara-Oliva, 33, at his Hyattsville home on Monday.
Authorities say Guevara-Oliva is a citizen of El Salvador who is in the United States illegally. ICE says he is wanted in Santa Barbara, Calif. for aggravated sexual assault on a child under 14 years of age and for forcible rape.
Guevara-Oliva is being held in Baltimore to await extradition to California.
