Baltimore Orioles Pitcher Kevin Gausman

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman joined Ed & Steve to talk about his time at spring training and the upcoming season.

Steve asked Gausman about the donuts that were stuffed in his locker and where they are. Kevin said he and his teammates are eating them, saying that Manny Machado grabs a couple 6 packs of them a day.

Ed asked Kevin about being the talk of spring training. Kevin says he feels good about it, but most importantly he feels healthy and ready for the upcoming season. And said that he doesn't know if he was throwing high 90's but he did once hit triple digits while at LSU.

Kevin said that the development of his slider, and feeling comfortable throwing all his pitches is what will allow him to be a successful professional pitcher.

Ed asked Kevin which coaches and players have helped him most. Kevin said that everyone is very supportive and helping him along the way. Kevin said if he makes a mistake the older pitchers come up to him and let him know what happened so he can avoid making that same mistake.

Gausman also said the biggest adjustment he has had to make from college to professional baseball is the 5 day rotation and being able to recover quickly and be ready for the next start.
