I know the initial reaction is to pan the Boldin trade, and wonder how they could only get a sixth round pick.

To me, you have to withhold judgment until we see what they do with the money, and who they get to replace Boldin. If they stand pat with the current crew of receivers, and Jones becomes a starter and Doss or Reed the third receiver, it’s a bad trade.

However, I doubt that will happen. The Ravens will get someone else in to play receiver. Right now, they are way short at linebacker and need a left tackle.  My guess is, some of that Boldin money will be used elsewhere.

The Ravens aren’t stupid. They know Boldin’s value. They just couldn’t afford him, not unless they were willing to get caught short elsewhere.
