Rain will come to an end early Tuesday afternoon. When it moves away, winds will turn around to the west and bring drier air into Maryland. We may even see some sunshine mix with the clouds before sunset – remember, we do have an extra hour to work with now.
The drier air that will take over the state, is also colder air. As it comes rushing into the state Wednesday, it will clash with the warm sunshine this time of year – causing clouds to build up and maybe even produce a few showers. In western Maryland, they will be in the form of snow showers. Highs will drop from the upper 50s Tuesday, to the low 50s Wednesday and not get out of the 40s Thursday and Friday.
The colder shot of air will moderate over the weekend, as another weak front moves by. Highs will jump back to the 50s but clouds will come through Saturday with spotty showers.
