Baltimore Police Resume Gun Range Qualification

BALTIMORE (AP) — The Baltimore Police Department has resumed testing officers’ firearms skills, examinations it suspended about a month ago after a police trainee was shot at another location.

The department halted training and testing after the Feb. 12 shooting at an unauthorized location in Owings Mills.
Recruits returned the next week to their classrooms.

Current officers began reporting again this week to a firearm range elsewhere in Baltimore County for their annual range qualification testing.

In the earlier shooting, trainee Raymond Gray of the University of Maryland, Baltimore, police, was wounded when a city police officer fired a live round during an exercise.
