Leopold Making Special Requests In Jail

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Former Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold isn't getting any special treatment while he serves 30 days in jail for misconduct in office.

The Capital of Annapolis reports Leopold asked for skim milk and Cheerios for breakfast as well as bananas and orange juice. He also wanted his electric shaver and dental floss. All those requests were denied.

The superintendent of the county's detention facilities, Terry Kokolis, said in a statement released Monday that Leopold "has burdened staff with multiple special requests and needs that have not and will not be provided."

Earlier this month judge gave Leopold 30 days in jail and 30 days of home detention for forcing members of his security detail to perform campaign work and having another county employee empty his urinary catheter bag.
