Orioles pitching prospect Kevin Gausman joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to talk about his first Orioles Spring Training.
Kevin tells us what he’s been doing to get ready for the season, which for him will start down in the minor leagues.
Gausman, who was originally drafted by the LA Dodgers out of high school, tells us why he chose to go to LSU over playing for the Dodgers.
He also talks about developing his change-up, which he said was easy for him to learn, just difficult for him to command.
Kevin goes on to tell us all about his powdered donuts superstitions and how it started. His other superstitions include things like the way he puts his socks on or jumping over the foul line going to the mound.
Competition has been stressed this year in Spring Training, with several positions up for the taking and players all wanting to fill spots. Kevin tells us his relationship with fellow pitching prospect Dylan Bundy.
