2 Injured In Baltimore Double Shooting; One Victim Is 11 Years Old

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police are investigating a double shooting at Bentalou Street and North Avenue.

Adam May has more.

According to police, an 11-year-old boy and an adult male were shot. It's not known what led to the shooting or if it was random. It's believed that the shooting happened inside a home.

Police say the boy ran out of the home after being shot. The 11-year-old ran down the street and stopped an officer on foot patrol for help.

The 11-year-old was shot in the lower body and is expected to survive; the adult was shot multiple times and is gravely injured. The man was taken to Shock Trauma.

Police have ramped up patrols in the neighborhood over the past few weeks because of the recent outbreaks of violence.

"This evening, just as the past few weeks, we've increased resources to the western district, as we have the past few weeks. We put officers deployed throughout the area. Preliminarily, it appears this incident happened inside a home," said Det. Jeremy Silbert.

If you have information, please call police.

So far this year, there have been more homicides in Baltimore than last year.
