WEATHER BLOG: Cold Again

The chill has definitely set in behind Monday's cold front. After hitting 65 degrees Monday, we only made it to 48 degrees Tuesday afternoon. That's after dropping to 28 degrees Tuesday morning. It will stay chilly Wednesday with a morning low in the 20s and afternoon high near 50 degrees. Then, a few ups and downs but the warmer air is coming!

The ups and downs come courtesy of an approaching rain maker Thursday night into Friday. Gusty winds will keep it dry Wednesday with a lot of sunshine. We lose the wind Thursday but keep the sunshine before the clouds come in late Thursday or Thursday night. Now, as for the home opener Friday, it looks like the bulk of the rain is late Thursday night and the first half of Friday - moving away Friday afternoon. It's definitely not a guarantee, but there's a chance that the rain could move away for the 3 p.m. game start (with our special coverage beginning at 2 p.m. on WJZ). We will continue to fine tune this timing as we get closer, so make sure you check back in.

The storm moving our way Friday is coming from the south. When it gets out of here, it will bring warmer air into the Mid-Atlantic. Highs will be close to 60 on Saturday, then in the 60s Sunday. And for those craving spring feeling warmth, the longer term outlook does keep temperatures above the 60 degree average most of next week!
