Md. Woman Killed In Easter Fire Identified

CHEVERLY, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County fire officials have identified a woman who died in a Cheverly house fire in a home filled with hoarded items.

Authorities say Stephanie Kay Syslo, 59, died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries in Sunday's fire.

Firefighters say the fire started in a second-floor bedroom and extended through the attic and roof. Damage was estimated at $75,000. A firefighter sustained a minor injury.

Officials say while the cause of the fire is undetermined, they believe it was accidental.

A smoke alarm in the home did not have a battery in it.
