WEATHER BLOG: Spring, Finally!

Our average high is now up to 62 degrees. We not only went above average Monday, but soared through the 70s - topping out at 77 degrees. If you like this kind of weather, get ready for the next few days because they will be even warmer.

A front passing northwest of us will keep the southerly wind around, and pump temperatures up to the 80s Tuesday and Wednesday. The last time we hit 80 degrees was back before Halloween on Oct. 24, when we had a high of 81 degrees. There is the slightest chance for a late-day shower out west with that front passing through, but most of us won't see anything at all.

The next front coming our way will be a different story. It will produce widespread severe weather across the south as it gets closer to us, then produce some thunderstorms in the Mid-Atlantic Thursday. The thunderstorms will wind down Thursday night, with rain lingering into Friday. Much cooler air will follow this front. It will knock our temperatures back down to reality, to the lower 60s.
