LINTHICUM, Md. (WJZ)— A Linthicum man is seriously injured after being stabbed in his home while attempting to break up a fight between his girlfriend and another woman.

It happened last Monday at around 10:20 p.m. in the 200-block of Minta Court in Linthicum when a verbal altercation between Amanda Frances Smallwood, 25, and a 26-year-old woman became physical.

Police say a 35-year-old male—boyfriend of the 26-year-old woman—attempted to intervene and was stabbed by Smallwood in his upper torso.

The victim was taken to Shock Trauma for treatment of serious injuries.

Smallwood, of Severn, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault (two counts) and reckless endangerment.
