Metro To Resume Weekend Track Work After Break
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro is scheduled to resume weekend track work after a four week break for cherry blossom season.
Metro says ridership increases by an average of more than 15 percent during the cherry blossom season. Weekend ridership can double to near-weekday levels during nice weather as people head to see the flowers.
This year, Metro says April 10, a Wednesday, was the fourth busiest day in the system's 37-year history.
