Jon Wertheim, a senior writer for Sports Illustrated, joined Ed & Steve to talk about how Sports Illustrated covered the Boston Marathon.  Due to the events that took place at the Boston Marathon Sports Illustrated needed to change their magazine cover.

Steve asked about what transpired at Sports Illustrated when the news broke at the Boston Marathon. Jon said how Monday night is when the magazine goes to the printer, but by 3:30 he and his team had to scramble to get it together.

Ed asked about how this will affect sporting events in the future. Jon said that this event is totally different than something like a Super Bowl where its more of a controlled area. You’re not going to cancel these kinds of events its going to be bigger.

Next Jon said how sports bring a sense of community and it will help give people a chance to heal. Sports will be where people come together.

And finally Jon told the guys he hasn’t heard of athletes thinking of their playing grounds as places for actions of terror.
