So immediately after Matt Wieters hits the walk-off grand slam homerun, I started humming the theme from “Pippin”. You know, “We’ve got magic to do, Just for you. We’ve got miracle plays to play.”
Yeah, I’m a geek, I know. That’s one of the songs that would play at Memorial Stadium. I would get to the stadium about two hours early on Sundays and would hear that song.
Thursday night was Orioles’ Magic. The Birds battled the Tampa Bay Rays ace, David Price and touched him for five runs in six plus innings. Although Miguel Gonzalez did not have his best stuff, the O’s answered blow for blow offensively to escape with a 10-6 win.
The O’s win the series for the second time over the Rays in as many tries and now get ready to face struggling Los Angeles Dodgers team on the heels of a four game losing streak. This is either a perfect time to face them or a very dangerous time.
